The Commercial Finance - Operations team are responsible for delivering insightful and relevant commercial analysis and reporting, enabling strategic decisions to be taken at a senior level. As the Head of Department, this role is responsible for ensuring that the team are constantly innovating and improving in response to changing demands from a growing business. This could be via new initiatives and schemes, supporting technological solutions, or evolving existing processes.

What you can expect as our Head of Commercial Finance - Operations

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Oversee the monthly P&L reforecasting process, including the completion of detailed revenue and cost models
  • Perform monthly headcount reforecasting
  • Regularly review the suitability of the forecast methodology, and implement changes as necessary
  • Lead the end-to-end 3-year P&L budget cycle
  • Introduce a process to run a 5 year forecast periodically

Forward looking scenario analysis

  • Support business initiatives by providing financial modelling support
  • Pro-actively look for opportunities to improve business performance

Business Partnering

  • Continue developing the business partnering programme; where departments have access to month round support and assistance, and input seamlessly into budgets and forecasts
  • Explore a tech solution to assist with self-serve access to data & financials

Tech Development

  • Continue to drive the development of Solver and SAP ByDesign to allow the automation of budgeting and forecasting
  • Be available to assist with SAP queries and development as required

Reporting & Non-Financial Data Projects

  • Continue to oversee the development of Dashboards in PowerBI (completing all CRM data, before moving onto other sources and reports)
  • Liaise with C-Team and Tech team to ensure the progression of the project
  • Look for ongoing opportunities to improve reporting and processes


  • Work with departments to set KPIs that align with the business strategy, and establish how to monitor and track these on an ongoing basis
  • Define "Core" business KPIs that align with market and industry standards

Blackstone Reporting

  • Key contact for financial & performance enquiries from Blackstone
  • Responsible for delivering quarterly board pack and long term cashflows

Potential Acquisitions

  • Oversee the financial modelling of any potential acquisition opportunities

Team Management & Development

  • Support and develop 4 team members (2x Commercial Finance Managers, 2x Analysts)

We'd love to hear from you if you've got

  • 5+ years PQE
  • Experience in a Commercial Finance/ FP&A management role essential
  • Hospitality or Real Estate sector experience beneficial
  • PowerBI experience beneficial
  • ACA (or similar) qualified
  • Strong academics
  • Excellent Excel and Powerpoint capability
  • Financial modelling and budgeting experience essential
  • Commercially minded & forward thinking
  • Flexible and able to identify new, innovative approaches to problems
